Mia Goth has made it official. The 32-year-old actress filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf on Tuesday, October 6, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents reviewed by multiple outlets. The marriage ran ten years, though the two had been living apart well before the paperwork went in.

There's a small discrepancy in the record. OK! Magazine reported the listed separation date as July 25, 2025. Just Jared and the Times of India both put it at July 28. Either way, it tracks with reporting from earlier this year that the couple had quietly split, with LaBeouf relocating to New Orleans to be closer to family.

Goth is asking for primary legal and physical custody of their daughter, Isabel, who turned four this year. She's also requested that the court strip away any future ability to award spousal support, to either of them. No drawn-out alimony fight, in other words, at least not one she's leaving room for.

The two met in 2012 on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, which also happened to be Goth's big-screen debut. They married in 2016. Two years later a rep confirmed they'd filed for divorce then too, calling the split amicable. That didn't stick. By March 2020 they were photographed back in Los Angeles wearing rings, and Isabel arrived in 2022. Neither of them ever addressed the reconciliation publicly, so the full story of what brought them back together, and what finally ended it, hasn't really been told by either side.

What has been reported, via TMZ, is that police were called to the couple's LA home more than once before the latest split. One of those calls got logged as a husband-and-wife disturbance, with a 911 operator noting an "uncooperative female" telling her partner to leave.

Then there's LaBeouf's year. He was arrested in New Orleans on February 17 after a Mardi Gras weekend brawl outside a French Quarter bar, allegedly shoving, punching and head-butting three people. He pleaded guilty on June 3 to three counts of simple battery and was sentenced to probation, alcohol rehab, and anger management classes, The Guardian reported. The Times of India has also reported that LaBeouf has since moved on into a new relationship, though details on that remain thin.

With the petition filed, the custody question is now the thing to watch. Goth wants primary rights over Isabel and a clean financial break from LaBeouf. Whether he contests either, or lets it go through quietly, will likely shape how messy this gets from here.
