A new promo for Kareena Kapoor Khan's radio show What Women Want has Shahid Kapoor's wife laughing off pregnancy talk and Kareena joking about her own status as a "wannabe Bollywood wife."
The internet has spent weeks waiting to see how this particular sit-down would play out, and the newest promo for Kareena Kapoor Khan's radio show What Women Want finally gives them something to chew on.
In the clip, Kareena asks Mira Rajput, who is married to Kareena's former partner Shahid Kapoor, to name the silliest rumour she's ever heard about herself. Mira doesn't hesitate. "That I am having another child," she says. Kareena needles her, suggesting she might be, and Mira shuts it down flat. "No way, we are done," she replies.
It's a thirty-second exchange, but it's doing a lot of work. Mira and Shahid already have two kids, and this is the first time either of them has addressed baby number three on record, even in jest.
The promo doesn't stop there. Mira tells Kareena, "I think you are a Bollywood star," and Kareena volleys back with a line that's already being screenshotted: "Bollywood star but I also... I am a wannabe Bollywood wife." The two then get into how couples handle gift-giving, with Mira mentioning that some husbands simply ask their wives what they want at the start of the year instead of guessing. Kareena seems sold on the idea. "Quite cool! I am gonna do this," she says. There's also a quick bit on marital arguments, where Mira's advice is blunt: "Relent. Don't!"
What makes this episode land differently is the history sitting underneath it. Kareena and Shahid dated before he married Mira in 2015, and the two women sharing a couch for a talk show called What Women Want was always going to draw eyeballs. Mira teased her appearance on Instagram back on September 29, posting photos in a white top with thread-work detail and a leather skirt, thanking Kareena "for having me and for being the woman you are." Kareena replied publicly too, telling her she was "so happy you came, gorgeous."
There's also a photo doing the rounds of the two posing together before the shoot, Kareena in a red top with maroon leather pants, which suggests whatever awkwardness fans were bracing for didn't survive contact with the actual set.
Reaction online has been split, going by comments on the promo. Some viewers think Kareena looks uneasy and question why Mira keeps getting this much attention for someone who says she avoids the spotlight. Others have pushed back, pointing out that Mira met Shahid years after his breakup with Kareena and that everyone involved has moved on, kids and all. A few commenters simply said both women looked good and left it there.
This isn't the first time Kareena and Shahid have shared a public moment either. The pair were spotted together in Jaipur in 2025, stiff on stage at first, before Kareena got him talking and the ice broke in front of an audience watching closely for exactly that.
