Mirzapur: The Movie isn't crashing after its opening weekend, it's just settling. The film added Rs 15.85 crore net in India on Tuesday, September 8, across 10,686 shows, according to figures cited by Sacnilk. That's barely a scratch off Monday's Rs 16 crore, a drop of roughly 0.9 per cent.
For a film that opened at Rs 25.75 crore on its first Friday and rode a genuine weekend surge, holding this flat through two weekdays is the number that matters more than any single day's total. Saturday brought Rs 32 crore, Sunday Rs 36 crore. Then came the inevitable weekday correction, but it stopped fast. Monday landed at Rs 16 crore. Tuesday, at Rs 15.85 crore, is practically the same film performing at practically the same strength a full workday later.
Run the total and Mirzapur: The Movie now sits at Rs 125.60 crore net in India across five days. Add taxes and the India gross climbs to Rs 149.97 crore. Overseas, the film picked up another Rs 3.50 crore on Tuesday, pushing its total international gross to Rs 27 crore. Stack both markets together and the worldwide gross stands at Rs 176.97 crore.
The overseas run has been quietly consistent through the week, not spectacular, but steady in the way distributors actually want. Combined with the domestic plateau, the film is tracking toward a comfortable extended theatrical life rather than a front-loaded weekend spike followed by collapse.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film pulls the Mirzapur universe off streaming and onto the big screen, with the fight for the city's underworld, old scores and new contenders driving the plot. Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal anchor a cast that includes Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Rasika Dugal and Mohit Malik, all reprising roles the show's audience already knows by heart.
That familiarity is doing real work here. A show with a built-in fanbase converting into theatrical numbers this stable, five days in, isn't a given in a market where even strong openers routinely lose forty per cent by midweek. Mirzapur has lost less than one per cent between Monday and Tuesday.
The question now is whether the second Friday brings a fresh bump from word of mouth or simply another slow bleed. Trade watchers will be circling the Rs 150 crore India net mark as the next number to track, and at this pace it's a matter of days, not weeks, away.
