Mirzapur: The Movie has now banked Rs 210.05 crore worldwide, according to figures reported by Bollywood Hungama. That puts it comfortably inside the Rs 200 crore club, a number that matters more than usual here because this film had no business being a safe bet in the first place.

The India numbers alone tell a decent story. Rs 145.88 crore net, which works out to Rs 173.67 crore gross once you factor in taxes. Add Rs 36.38 crore from overseas markets and you get the worldwide figure sitting just past the Rs 210 crore mark.

What makes this one worth pausing on is where the franchise came from. Mirzapur built its audience over multiple seasons on a streaming platform, which is not the usual launchpad for a theatrical release. Series fans already know Kaleen Bhaiya, already know Guddu, already know how this world works. Getting them into a cinema hall to pay for something they could technically watch at home eventually was never a guaranteed win.

It paid off anyway. The cast carries a chunk of that credit. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu headline the film, and all three have spent years building these characters on screens smaller than the ones this film is now filling. The power plays and the violence that made the show a talking point have simply moved to a bigger canvas, and audiences appear to have followed without much resistance.

Excel Entertainment gets to add this to a filmography that already has its share of commercial wins, and the timing works in the studio's favour too. There's been a steady murmur in the trade about whether streaming properties can actually pull crowds into theatres, and this film is now Exhibit A for the argument that they can, provided the fan base is loyal enough and the theatrical version gives them something worth the ticket price.

The run isn't done yet. Bollywood Hungama's report notes the film's theatrical journey is still in progress, which means the Rs 210 crore figure is a checkpoint and not a final score. Whether it climbs meaningfully higher will depend on how the film holds through its second and third weekends, especially once fresh releases start competing for the same screens.

For now, the number stands at Rs 210.05 crore worldwide, split between a Rs 173.67 crore India gross and Rs 36.38 crore from overseas. The next update on that tally is only a matter of days away.
