Six days in, and Mirzapur The Movie has already made more than double its reported ₹90 crore budget back.
According to Koimoi, the film pulled in ₹14.84 crore in India on its first Wednesday, with another ₹3 crore coming from overseas screens. That's a total of ₹17.84 crore for the day, down 22.54% from Tuesday's ₹23.03 crore, which is a fairly normal weekday dip for a film that's been front-loading its numbers on the weekend and holiday crowd.
Add it all up and the worldwide gross now stands at ₹202 crore. Domestic collections alone have crossed ₹169 crore, with the overseas tally at ₹33 crore gross.
That 200 crore mark matters beyond the round number. Koimoi reports the film has now overtaken Welcome To The Jungle's ₹196.1 crore lifetime total, which makes Mirzapur The Movie Bollywood's sixth highest-grossing release of 2026 at the worldwide box office. Not bad for a film that had to answer, going in, whether a beloved streaming franchise could actually pull crowds into theatres.
So far, the answer looks like yes. Word of mouth has stayed strong through the week, which is usually the tell for whether a film is going to fade after its opening rush or keep grinding out numbers into a second weekend.
What's next on the chart
The next target is Awarapan 2, sitting at ₹217.52 crore worldwide, and at the current pace, Koimoi's numbers suggest Mirzapur The Movie should get there within the next couple of days. Cross that, and it moves into fifth place on the 2026 list, with whatever's above it presumably still some distance off given the gap at the top.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar for Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, the film brings back Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu Sharma, Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan from the show that built this whole universe. On a reported ₹90 crore budget, it was always going to look profitable early. What's more interesting is whether it keeps this run going into the second weekend, when the real test for word-of-mouth holds usually shows up.
Friday will tell us if the weekday dip was just a dip, or the start of the slide.
