Mirzapur The Movie Crosses Rs 230 Crore Worldwide In Eight Days

The Excel Entertainment thriller has now overtaken Awarapan 2 to become 2026's fifth-biggest Bollywood grosser globally, with North America already past the $2 million mark.

Eight days in, and Mirzapur The Movie is barely slowing down. The film added Rs 13.71 crore worldwide on its second Friday, a drop of just over 8% from Thursday's Rs 14.95 crore, taking its total to Rs 230.66 crore gross across India and overseas.

That number matters because of what it displaces. Mirzapur has now gone past Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2, which closed its run at Rs 217.57 crore worldwide, to sit fifth on the list of Bollywood's biggest 2026 grossers. By Saturday, trade estimates suggest it should also clear Dhamaal 4's Rs 236.43 crore tally and move into fourth place. Bhooth Bangla's Rs 292.64 crore is next in its sights, though that's a target for the coming weeks, not days.

The India numbers on their own are a story. Domestic net collections stand at Rs 163.27 crore, which is Rs 192.66 crore gross, enough to edge past Awarapan 2's Rs 156.04 crore net and claim sixth spot in the year's home rankings. It's still well behind Hanuman Ansh, which occupies fifth and shows no sign of stopping after five weeks in cinemas. But Mirzapur is closing on Dhamaal 4's Rs 177.92 crore net and Bhooth Bangla's Rs 199.23 crore net, both of which look gettable before the film's theatrical run winds down. A net total of Rs 200 crore in India looks close to a formality at this point.

Haiwaan dents shows, not much else

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's Haiwaan opened the same week and did chip into Mirzapur's screen count, a squeeze that shows up in slightly softer per-show numbers through the second Friday. It hasn't dented the trajectory, though. Backed by an audience that already knew the Mirzapur universe from four seasons of the show, the film has held its footing against a crowded September slate.

Overseas, the film has pulled in Rs 38 crore gross in its first week, with North America doing the heavy lifting. It opened at $314K on day one and closed its first week with a $120K Thursday, taking the US-Canada total to $2.05 million. That makes it the fourth Bollywood release of 2026 to cross the $2 million line in the region, and it's expected to overtake Bhooth Bangla's $2.3 million mark there within days.

Against a reported Rs 90 crore budget, the film is already sitting well past double that figure worldwide inside a fortnight. The question now is how much further the second-week hold stretches it, and whether it can actually catch Hanuman Ansh's pace before the year runs out.
