Nine days in, Mirzapur The Movie is still adding numbers, just not at the pace it opened with. The film's India net collection stands at Rs 159.63 crore as of day nine, per figures reported by the Times of India, with its worldwide gross now well past Rs 225 crore.

That's a jump from the Rs 157.95 crore net (Rs 188.19 crore gross) it had banked by the end of day eight, when it added Rs 9.50 crore in a single day, according to DNA India. Both numbers are sourced from the entertainment tracker Sacnilk, and both point to the same story: the crime thriller has comfortably cleared the Rs 150 crore threshold in India and is now in the grind of its second week, where growth slows but doesn't stop.

Somewhere in that climb, Mirzapur The Movie quietly buried Awarapan 2. Emraan Hashmi's film had closed its run at Rs 151 crore net domestic and Rs 213 crore worldwide. Tripathi, Ali Fazal and company have now gone past both figures, which puts the Prime Video franchise's big-screen spinoff at fifth on the list of 2026's highest-grossing Bollywood films. Ahead of it sit Dhurandhar 2, Border 2, Bhooth Bangla and Dhamaal 4, in that order.

Bablu recast, a new villain, and a franchise that still delivers

Part of the pull here is nostalgia doing exactly what it was supposed to. The film brings Pankaj Tripathi's Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal's Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu's Munna Bhaiya back to a screen bigger than the one most of their fans first watched them on. Jitendra Kumar steps into Bablu Pandit, a role Vikrant Massey originated on the show, and Ravi Kishan arrives fresh as Babban Yadav, the new antagonist the plot needed. Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee, Sheeba Chaddha and Sushant Singh round out a cast that was never going to be short on faces the audience already trusts.

What happens next depends on how much runway is left. Trade watchers are now pointing to Rs 175 crore net as the next marker within reach, and if the film keeps its current hold, a shot at Dhamaal 4's total isn't out of the question either. Bhooth Bangla's lifetime number is further off but not impossible if the second weekend holds up.

There's added pressure, too. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's Haiwaan is set to open soon, and how much screen space Mirzapur The Movie gets to keep once that release lands will decide whether Rs 175 crore is a floor or a ceiling. The next few days of collections will tell that story faster than any trade prediction can.
