Rs 31.50 crore nett on day two. That's the number trade trackers are putting against Mirzapur: The Movie, and it's up roughly 25 per cent on its opening day, according to Pinkvilla's estimates. Factor in that day one fell on a holiday, and the real jump is closer to 60 per cent. For a film carrying this much fan-base weight into theatres, that's the kind of second-day curve producers dream about.

Two days in, the cumulative sits at Rs 56.50 crore nett approx, per the same trade estimates. Sunday advances are reportedly running ahead of Saturday's, which puts the film in range of another Rs 35 crore nett today. Add it up and the opening weekend lands north of Rs 90 crore nett, an outcome the report calls outstanding.

What's interesting is where the growth actually came from. Maharashtra and Karnataka led the surge. The Hindi belt grew too, just by less, because Friday's holiday factor was already baked into those numbers. Gujarat looked shaky early Sunday but recovered to post growth by the end of the day. Bihar was the one market that dropped, which the report frames as fairly standard for a big opener riding a holiday first day, not a red flag.

Delhi-UP remains the strongest circuit for the film, with what the report describes as bumper occupancy across its major centres through the weekend. That circuit alone tells you something about where the Mirzapur audience actually lives, and it isn't a surprise given the show's own geography.

Super hit now, blockbuster later?

Trade language has already tagged the film a super hit off these two days. Whether it climbs further, into blockbuster territory, depends entirely on what happens once the weekend advance dries up. Weekday holds are where genuine word-of-mouth shows itself, especially for a title where a chunk of the audience walked in already knowing the characters from four seasons of streaming. If Monday and Tuesday don't fall off a cliff, the film has a real shot at a long run rather than a front-loaded one.

Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu anchor a cast that's spent years building this world on OTT, and the theatrical version is clearly cashing in on that loyalty in its first two days. Worth remembering these are trade estimates, not certified numbers, tracking advance bookings and market sentiment rather than final box office statements. The real test starts Monday.
