Nicolas Cage fans will see two of his biggest hits in true 4K glory this November. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment says the National Treasure and Con Air discs land on 10 November, each packaged in a limited steel‑book case.
Collector’s Edition Details
Both titles have been freshly remastered in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Atmos sound. The National Treasure set adds a brand‑new commentary track recorded by director John Turteltaub and co‑star Justin Bartha, all in the ultra‑high‑definition format.
Con Air’s version follows a similar path, pairing the 4K disc with a standard Blu‑ray that contains two extra short pieces – A View from Above and The Destruction of Las Vegas – plus a code for a digital download.
The releases arrive alongside earlier announcements that Disney will also bring Bruce Willis’s Mercury Rising and The Jackal to 4K Blu‑ray in early 2027, suggesting the studio still believes physical media can earn a niche audience.
While a sequel to Con Air remains unlikely, the National Treasure franchise is gearing up for another chapter. Director Jon Turteltaub told reporters the studio has approved a script for National Treasure 3 and that Cage will return as Benjamin Gates. “It’s finally real. Now, it’s Hollywood real, meaning things could happen,” he said.
For collectors the steel‑book packaging is a draw, offering a glossy, hard‑cover look that stands out on a shelf. The National Treasure edition also bundles a set of behind‑the‑scenes featurettes, while the Con Air disc includes a visual look at the infamous Las Vegas crash sequence.
Both releases are timed for the holiday shopping rush, giving fans a chance to add a high‑quality physical copy to their libraries before streaming dominates the market. Whether the discs will sell out remains to be seen, but the announcement signals that at least a segment of the audience still values tangible media.
