Prabhas is back in the saddle — and this time, he’s pulling his producer along with him. TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory confirmed at the Garividi Lakshmi press meet that a new film with Prabhas is locked for 2028, just weeks after The RajaSaab flopped hard at the box office.
That’s not a typo: another film. Not a pause. Not a rethink. A commitment.
The announcement lands like a punch to the gut for anyone still mourning the Sankranti 2026 disaster. The RajaSaab, horror-comedy, Maruthi-directed, Prabhas fronting a chaotic mix of genre and tone. Didn’t just underperform. It sank.
And so did People Media Factory’s bank balance. But here’s the twist: instead of walking away, Prabhas handed them the distribution rights to Spirit in one region as a goodwill gesture. Then he said, “Let’s do it again.”
That kind of loyalty isn’t common in an industry where heroes ghost producers after a loss.
This isn’t just about trust. It’s about power. Prabhas isn’t just a star. He’s a force that can resurrect a banner from the ashes.
And People Media Factory? They’re not just getting another shot. They’re getting a headline. Now, the real question isn’t whether they’ll make the film.
It’s who’ll direct it. Maruthi’s last outing was a mess. The next director will be scrutinised like a politician’s first speech. And Prabhas?
His calendar’s already full. Fauzi (Hanu Raghavapudi) in early 2027. Spirit (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) late 2027. Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 shooting now, aiming for 2028.
Add this 2028 project, no director yet, no title, no script. And you’ve got a machine running on pure momentum. No room for failure. No margin for error.
But then again, when you’re Prabhas, failure isn’t an option. It’s just a delay. The next move? Wait for the director.
Then wait for the trailer. Then wait for the world to decide if this is redemption or repetition.
