Offset reportedly features on Quavo's solo album Qrömelife, three years after tension between the former Migos members spilled into public view at the BET Awards.
Quavo and Offset stood side by side again on Saturday night, and for a group that split messily in 2022, that alone counts as news.
The two former Migos members showed up together at a Los Angeles listening party for Quavo's upcoming solo album Qrömelife, according to a TMZ report cited by The Shade Room. Footage from the event shows them dancing next to each other as the record played. Offset is reportedly featured on one of the tracks, titled 'Away.'
Qrömelife arrives Friday, October 2. Pharrell Williams produced the album, which is stacked with guest names: Yung Miami, Justin Timberlake, Lil Baby, Tyler, The Creator, Future, T.I. And A$AP Rocky all show up on the tracklist, per the same report.
The backstory here matters. Migos broke through as a trio of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff, Quavo's nephew, before Offset split from the group in 2022. Quavo and Takeoff carried on as Unc & Phew. Then, on November 1, 2022, Takeoff was shot and killed. Quavo and Offset paid tribute to him at the 2023 BET Awards, but that night reportedly ended with the two arguing on the same stage, a moment that upset fans who'd hoped to see them heal in public.
So a friendly listening party, three years later, reads as a small but real shift.
Quavo has spoken about what going into this album meant for him. "We made this project together last year at a time when I was still dealing with grief and needed to create and express myself," he said, quoted by Power 101.5. "Qrömelife is about the journey of me going through tough times in life and getting to the other side through my faith, family and my love for music." He credited Pharrell for pushing him creatively through that stretch.
Fans reacted fast once the video made it online, plenty of them tagging the reunion in the comments under The Shade Room's post, others using it to remember Takeoff.
There's a bigger reunion possibly on the way too. About a week before the listening party, Quavo told Baller Alert he and Offset are working on what he called Migos' final album. He pointed to January as a possible window, tying it to what he referred to as the group's anniversary, though he stopped short of naming a release date. "We coming back with a Migos album," he said. "Get ready for that."
None of this has been confirmed by Offset directly, and nothing beyond Quavo's comments and the TMZ report has been made official. Qrömelife drops October 2, and whether 'Away' turns out to be a one-off feature or the start of something longer stays an open question until then.
