Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali is setting its sights on October 8 for the trailer drop — a full week before the film’s October 16 theatrical launch. The announcement, confirmed by Filmfare, comes amid growing buzz around the period drama’s blend of rebellion, myth, and the supernatural. The film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan (Shyam Singha Roy), draws from real-life figures like Gadekal Bobbili Nagireddy, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, and Budda Vengal Reddy, 19th-century Palegars of Rayalaseema known for their defiance against British rule and their enduring presence in Seema folk songs. Nagireddy, famed for his equestrian prowess and rumored divine connections, is said to be a key inspiration for Deverakonda’s titular character, who may meet a martyr’s end through conspiracy. The film unfolds during the famine-stricken Madras Presidency of the 1870s, with one sequence reportedly stretching 16 minutes and building toward a climactic rebellion. Rashmika Mandanna plays the fictional female lead, whose chemistry with Deverakonda was highlighted in the song Endhayya Saami. The Ajay-Atul duo, fresh off Adipurush, has composed the soundtrack. A BTS documentary series is also in the works. The supernatural thread, hinted at in the teaser, now appears nearly confirmed. No official word yet on whether the trailer will reveal the full scope of that divine layer. But fans are already bracing for it.
