The Bigg Boss 20 contestant opened up about her childhood split, revealing how her father fought for custody and how she coped with the separation.
Rhiti Tiwari burst into tears while speaking to fellow housemate Amrapali Dubey on the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20. The moment, aired at 9 pm on Jio Hotstar, saw the 22‑year‑old recount the day‑to‑day reality of her parents’ split.
She told Amrapali she was eight when her mother and Manoj Tiwari’s relationship ended, and nine when the legal divorce was finalized. "Mere dad ko bahut time tak umeed thi ki they will get back together," she said, noting her father's lingering hope for reconciliation.
Rhiti explained that her father fought hard for custody, a battle that left both of them in tears whenever they met. "Usme hum kuch kar hi nahi sakte the," she added, describing the helplessness she felt.
The conversation turned softer when she spoke about teaching her dad English during their rare meetings, a small gesture that meant a lot to her. She also expressed genuine happiness when Surbhi Tiwari entered Manoj’s life, saying no one was happier than she was for them.
When asked about her feelings for both parents, Rhiti summed it up simply: "Mujhe meri maa bahut pyaari hai par wo bhi to mere baap hain."
Manoj Tiwari, a veteran politician and former MP, has been married twice – first to Rani Tiwari, with whom he shares Rhiti, and later to Surbhi Tiwari, with whom he has two more daughters. The family drama now has a national audience, as the show continues to air daily on Colors TV at 10.30 pm.
Fans are already flooding social media with support for the young contestant, praising her courage to share such a personal story on a public platform. The next episode promises more revelations as the housemates navigate their own emotional journeys.
