Rhiti Tiwari didn't waste time getting real inside the Bigg Boss house. In an episode that aired Wednesday, the daughter of Bhojpuri star and politician Manoj Tiwari told fellow contestants Mary Kom, Uditi Singh and Arishfa Khan that carrying her father's surname has come at a cost she rarely talks about outside the show.

"Mujhe death threats aate hain, rape threats aate hain, cause I am his daughter," she said, according to clips from the episode. "Mera opinion log count karte hai ki unka hi opinion hoga, aur unke dum par sab mujhe chadate hai."

She framed it as a double bind. Whatever she says on the show gets read back through her father's politics, not her own opinion. "Mere pe double pressure raha hai always," she said. "Mein jo bhi bolungi, 'Manoj Tiwari ki beti ne yeh bol diya, woh aisi hai.'" Mary Kom, by most accounts, just listened.

Rhiti entered the house when Bigg Boss 20 premiered on September 6, and her surname made her a marked contestant from day one. Manoj Tiwari has his own history with the franchise, having appeared on Bigg Boss 4 back when the show's biggest controversies were still about breakfast. Salman Khan brought that up himself on premiere night, joking that Rhiti shouldn't fight over eggs the way her father once did with Dolly Bindra, in what remains one of the show's more quoted feuds. Manoj laughed it off on stage.

Away from the threats, Rhiti also used the platform to talk about her parents. Manoj Tiwari divorced his first wife Rani in 2010. He later married Surabhi in 2020, and the couple have two children together. Rhiti, in a separate conversation with contestant Kanika Mann, said watching her mother raise her alone left a mark on how she approaches relationships now.

"I want to work, earn for myself, and build my own identity," she said. "But I have loved someone. My best friend and I have known each other for 20 years, and I was in love with him. Unfortunately, it ended in heartbreak recently."

She didn't name him. She also said she's met controlling men since and doesn't intend to hand anyone that kind of hold over her life again.

None of this is new territory for Bigg Boss, a show that has built sixteen-odd seasons on contestants unpacking their families on camera. What's different here is the scale of what Rhiti says she's dealt with online, threats of violence tied directly to who her father is, not to anything she's said or done herself. The show has offered no response to those threats, and neither has Manoj Tiwari, who has yet to comment publicly on his daughter's remarks.

Bigg Boss 20 continues nightly on Colors and JioHotstar, with the season's cast including Kanika Mann, Amrapali Dubey, Qazi Touqeer and ScoutOP among others. Whether Rhiti's disclosures change how the house, or her father's fans, treat her from here is the thing to watch over the coming weeks.
