Sarah Michelle Gellar doesn't post her kids much. This weekend she posted both.

The actress, married to Freddie Prinze Jr since 2002, put up back-to-back Instagram tributes for daughter Charlotte and son Rocky, whose birthdays fall a day apart. Charlotte turned 17. Rocky turned 14 right after.

For Charlotte, Gellar wrote, "Yesterday was my best friend's birthday @charlotteprinze I'm not sure how you are 17 already. You may have been the child that made me a mom, but now you are the person that brings out the best in me. (Not to mention my biggest champion) Thank you… for being you."

Then came Rocky's turn. "And then, there were two. Three years and one day later @rockyprinze came racing into our lives," she wrote. "I should have known from your speedy delivery, the excitement you would bring. You have no idea how lucky I feel to watch you chase your dream. You inspire not just me, but everyone around you. Happy Birthday Rocky."

That line about racing isn't just sentiment. Rocky actually races. His own Instagram is stacked with photos from go-kart meets with the Central California Kart Racing Association, and his mother's caption seems to nod straight at it.

Gellar has kept both kids mostly off her public feed for years. The last time she and Charlotte were photographed together publicly was back in 2022. Rocky's face shows up even less often. In 2020, Gellar spoke publicly about his vision issues, one of the few times she's discussed either child's personal life in any detail.

The timing tracks with a bigger family milestone too. Gellar and Prinze Jr have been together for more than 25 years, having met through mutual friends before dating and marrying in 2002. They marked their wedding anniversary on September 1, just weeks before this double birthday round.

So two rare posts, one weekend, and a small window into a household that mostly stays off camera. Whether Gellar goes back to radio silence on her kids' faces or keeps posting is anyone's guess. Given the pattern of the last several years, don't bet on a third one landing anytime soon.
