Vijay Sethupathi didn't name anybody. That's Seeman's opening argument, and it's the crux of a small political storm now swirling around Bigg Boss Tamil 10.

The trouble started when Sethupathi, hosting the show, used a contestant game to talk about leadership, responsibility and power in general terms, the kind of segment Bigg Boss hosts run most seasons. He said a leader who doesn't understand what leadership means, who hands out promises without thinking them through, and who then dumps the blame on rivals and disappears the moment things get difficult, doesn't deserve the title.

Nobody was named. No party was mentioned, according to Filmibeat Tamil's report on the episode. But within hours, sections of the internet had decided Sethupathi was talking about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, and TVK supporters turned on the actor, according to the report, with online criticism escalating into personal attacks and abuse.

That's where Seeman stepped in. The Naam Tamilar Katchi leader, posting on X, asked why a general observation about leadership had been read as an attack on one specific person. Why does this anger, which no other party seems to provoke, land only on TVK, from the minister down to the ordinary worker, he asked, going by his post as reported by Filmibeat Tamil.

Seeman's argument ran wider than just defending one actor. In a democracy, he wrote, the right to speak doesn't belong only to politicians and elected representatives. Actors, writers, journalists, students and ordinary citizens all have it too. You're free to disagree with an opinion, free to argue against it. What you don't get to do is turn up in numbers to abuse, threaten or defame someone for holding it. Power, in his framing, isn't a shield against criticism. It's a responsibility to answer it.

He also had a pointed line for TVK specifically, playing off the title of a film Sethupathi acted in. Acting in a movie called Jananayagan, Tamil for the democrat, isn't enough on its own, Seeman wrote. What matters is actually upholding the values of democracy, not shutting down a contrary opinion with abuse and intimidation.

Neither the Chief Minister's office nor TVK has issued an official response to Seeman's post as of this report. Sethupathi himself hasn't commented publicly on the row, and Bigg Boss Tamil 10 continues its run with the controversy trailing it into the next episode.

Whether this turns into a bigger flashpoint between NTK and TVK, two parties that rarely agree on anything, is the thing to watch over the next few days.
