Sidharth Malhotra picked Tuesday, in the thick of Ganesh Chaturthi, to make a Lalbaugcha Raja run before his next film starts talking to the public. He wasn't alone. Producer Ektaa R Kapoor walked in with him, both of them there to seek Lord Ganesha's blessings ahead of the trailer launch for The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest.

The optics were deliberate but the mood looked genuine enough. Sidharth turned up in a cream-and-red ombre kurta paired with cream trousers, Ektaa in a red salwar suit, and the two went in barefoot, as tradition at Mumbai's most-visited pandal demands. Photos and clips of the arrival did the rounds within hours, the pair caught bowing before the idol mid-prayer.

The timing isn't incidental. The Vvaan's trailer is due out soon, and a pandal visit right before a big promotional beat is a familiar Bollywood move, part faith, part calendar management. Ektaa R Kapoor backing the project and showing up in person signals how much weight Balaji is putting behind this one.

What is The Vvaan actually about? Details remain tightly held for now. What we do know is the cast list, and it's a stacked one. Sidharth Malhotra leads alongside Tamannaah Bhatia, with Anup Soni, Shweta Tiwari, Durgesh Kumar, Sunil Grover and Maniesh Paul filling out key roles. That's a mix of straight drama actors and comic timing that suggests the makers are playing with tone rather than sticking to a single genre lane.

The promotional build has been unconventional too. Ahead of any trailer, the team put out a comic book called The Legend of Vvaan, meant to introduce audiences to the film's world before a single frame of footage goes public. It's the kind of prequel-content approach that's become common for films chasing a cinematic universe feel, though whether The Vvaan is angling for a franchise or just a one-off thriller isn't clear from what's been shared so far.

For Sidharth, this comes right after Param Sundari, and for Tamannaah, right after the Prime Video show Do You Wanna Partner. Both are coming off projects that landed them in very different registers, which makes The Vvaan something of a genre pivot for the pairing.

No trailer date has been locked publicly yet, at least not one the makers have confirmed. But with the pandal visit done and the comic book already out in the world, the next logical drop is the trailer itself. Whether the film leans into horror, thriller or something stranger given that title, Force of the Forrest, should become clear the day that trailer actually lands.
