Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut, Sigma, has officially limped to the end of its theatrical run after a steep 93% drop in collections during its second weekend. The film, released on October 2, opened with ₹5.35 crore over its first three days — driven largely by curiosity around the son of Thalapathy Vijay making his mark behind the camera. But that momentum didn’t last. By its second Sunday, the film was pulling in just ₹13 lakh, matching Saturday’s earnings. The decline wasn’t just in numbers, it was in reach. The show count dropped by 1,000 in the second week, a clear sign of shrinking audience interest. After ten days, the film’s net total stands at ₹8.58 crore, translating to a gross of ₹10.12 crore. Trade sources confirm it will most likely wrap up its run this week. Sundeep Kishan headlines the cast, with music composed by Thaman S., cinematography by Krishnan Vasant, and editing by Praveen KL. The film also features Raju Sundaram, Shiv Pandit, Faria Abdullah, and Sampath Raj in key roles. Produced by Lyca Productions, Sigma is written and directed by Jason Sanjay. While the opening weekend carried the weight of legacy, the follow-through failed to sustain it. No further updates are expected from the team. The question now isn’t whether the film will survive. But what happens when a name doesn’t carry the story.
