Teja Sajja hosts the Telugu adaptation of the global reality hit, premiering October 15 on Prime Video with 20 contestants and hidden betrayals.
The Traitors Telugu is officially here. The trailer has landed, revealing a cast of 20 players pulled from different corners of Telugu entertainment — singers, actors, writers, and public figures, now locked in a game where trust is the first casualty.
At the center: Teja Sajja, fresh off Hanu-Man’s success, stepping into hosting for the first time. His voice guides viewers through a world of whispers, alliances, and sudden betrayals. "This game is as unpredictable for me as it is for the contestants," he says in the trailer. That line isn’t just performance. It’s the show’s entire premise.
The format is familiar: 20 people split into Innocents and Traitors. The former must identify the latter before elimination. But the twist? The Traitors are hidden among them. One wrong guess, one misplaced trust, and you’re out. The trailer doesn’t hold back, scenes of tense eye contact, whispered confessions, and sudden accusations fly fast. No one knows who to believe. Not even the host.
Contestants include Chinmayi Sripada, the singer known for her sharp wit. Harsha Vardhan, the actor with a reputation for calm under pressure. Pragathi Mahavadi, a name from the digital space. And Dr Meghanath Reddy, bringing a cerebral edge. Others like Ashika Padukone, Sweekar Agasthi, and Puppala Dhanunjaya round out a mix that spans generations and professions.
It’s not just about drama. It’s about identity. The trailer hints at personal histories, past connections, and secrets buried beneath polite smiles. When someone says, "I trusted you," it lands like a punch.
Produced by SOL Production, The Traitors Telugu follows the Hindi version’s global success. Season 2 was the #1 non-English title on Prime Video in its launch week. Now, the Telugu edition arrives with English subtitles, aiming to capture the same energy but with local flavor.
Premiere date: October 15. New episodes drop every Thursday at 12 noon. No spoilers. Just suspicion.
And yes, this is the first Telugu version of a format that’s already broken records elsewhere. Whether it can replicate that magic remains to be seen. But one thing’s certain: the game has begun.
