Train, the long-gestating Tamil thriller from Mysskin, is finally set for a December 4 release. The film, which stars Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Hassan in lead roles, marks Mysskin’s first time composing music for a project he’s directing. It’s been nearly three years since the film was announced in November 2023, with shooting wrapping up in late 2023. Rumours of a 2025 launch had circulated without confirmation — until now. Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations is backing the film, which also features an ensemble cast including Nasser, Yugi Sethu, Narain, KS Ravikumar, Sampath Raj, Kalaiyarasan, Ira Dayanand, Ajay Ratnam, Vincent Ashokan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Thrigun Arun, Ganesh Venkatraman, Preethy Karan, Singampuli, Suresh Chandra Menon, Shaji, Selvaah Chandrasekhar, GR Aathithyaa, Rohan, Kaniha, Janany, Diya Sharma, and Komagan. The crew includes cinematographer Fowzia Fathima, editor Sri Watson, art director Mohana Mahendran, and stunt choreographer Ramkumar. The trailer has not yet dropped, but the announcement comes just ahead of Mysskin’s other release: Sathyavan Savithiri, starring Keerthy Suresh, which hits theatres on November 20. Vijay Sethupathi, meanwhile, has multiple films lined up, Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Pocket Novel, Mani Ratnam’s Inji Vellam, and Puri Jagannadh’s Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road. So, the train’s leaving the station. But will it run on time? December 4, we’ll find out.
