Trisha did hers from London. The actress, who is currently overseas, put up a photo with the caption "Missing home extra today," a small line that did the job of saying she'd rather have been somewhere with a Ganesh idol and a plate of kozhukattai than wherever she was. No further detail on what she's doing in London, and she didn't offer any.

Back home, Sneha kept it simple and warm. She showed up in a blue and green silk saree, lit a lamp in front of an idol dressed in yellow and erukku flowers, and posted a smiling photo with her wishes for fans. It's the kind of picture that doesn't need much captioning, and hers didn't get much.

Reshmi Pasupuleti went further into the ritual itself. In a light pink silk saree, she photographed her puja room laid out with fruits, puffed rice, kozhukattai and flowers, the full spread that Ganesha is supposed to prefer over everything else. The pictures have been doing well for her online, picking up steady likes since they went up.

Dharsha Gupta's post was quieter, almost a single frame. Seated in front of the idol in a blue saree, chin resting on her hand, she wrote that she hoped Ganesha's blessings would clear obstacles and bring success, happiness, good health, wealth and new beginnings to everyone. Standard festival language, but it read sincere enough given the photo that came with it.

None of this is news in the sense of an announcement or a deal falling through. It's what Ganesh Chaturthi does every year to social media feeds, actors included, and the appeal is exactly that there's nothing to parse. A festival, a home altar, a caption that doesn't try too hard.

What's mildly interesting is the split between those who celebrated from home and those, like Trisha, stuck away from it. Her caption did more work than the others precisely because it admitted the gap. Everyone else posted contentment. She posted absence, and it landed differently for it.

The festival runs its course over the following days in most Tamil households, with idol immersions typically following on Vinayaka Chaturthi's traditional timeline. Whether any of these actors post again once that happens, or whether this was the one moment they were willing to share, is anyone's guess until the timelines update.
