Dino Morea appeared before the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s Office on Friday morning, not in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case or the high-profile investigation into Disha Salian’s death — but over allegations tied to the Mithi River desilting scam. The actor was summoned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is probing financial irregularities in a civic project initiated after the 2005 floods to improve flood management through riverbed clearance. According to sources, discrepancies have emerged between the volume of work reported and what was actually carried out, raising concerns about misappropriation of funds meant for drainage maintenance and flood prevention. Morea’s name surfaced due to alleged associations with contractors and officials under investigation. The EOW has been building its case since last year, when the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at 15 locations across Mumbai and Kochi, including Morea’s residence, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Those raids were part of a broader probe into potential money laundering linked to the project. While the ED action targeted financial trails, the current EOW inquiry focuses on Morea’s role in the alleged scheme. This development comes amid another legal escalation in the Disha Salian case. On September 14, 2026, the Central Bureau of Investigation registered a fresh FIR following a statement submitted by Satish Salian, Disha’s father. In that statement, he named several individuals, including Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, actors Dino Morea and Sooraj Pancholi, their bodyguards Rohan Roy and Rhea Chakraborty, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, former DCP Vishal Thakur, Sachin Vaze, and the former PI of the Malwani police station. The allegations center on gang rape and murder, claims that have not been proven. Satish Salian told ANI: “Justice must be served. They should receive the punishment prescribed by law. Just as they stripped my daughter of her dignity, they too will be stripped of theirs. They should get either life imprisonment or the death penalty.” He added that he had provided all details to the authorities. Disha Salian, who was Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-manager, died in Mumbai on June 8, 2020. Her death was initially recorded as an accidental death report. The Bombay High Court ordered a fresh probe on September 2, 2026, leading to the new FIR. No charges have been filed yet. Both investigations remain active. One is focused on public funds and infrastructure. The other on a personal tragedy and systemic accountability. The two cases now move forward in parallel, each carrying its own weight, and its own questions.
