Varun Dhawan has taken a decisive step beyond his recent farming hobby, joining nutrition-focused brand Better Nutrition as both investor and brand ambassador. The announcement came on October 7 via an Instagram reel, where he revealed that his journey into agriculture had led him to recognise the deeper role nutrition plays in food and farming. He described the shift not as a departure from his farm, but as its next phase — expanding from cultivation to systemic change in how India eats.
His interest in farming began in August, when he shared the purchase of a farm, calling it the biggest achievement of his life. By early September, he was posting photos from the paddy fields, marking the start of actual cultivation. But the experience soon moved past soil and seed. In September, Dhawan spoke publicly about challenges with crop health, citing conversations with farmers that raised concerns about soil depletion and the overuse of chemicals. He specifically mentioned micronutrients like zinc and magnesium, questioning their absence in modern farming practices.
It was this awareness that drew attention from Better Nutrition’s founders, Prateek Rastogi and Aishwarya Bhatnagar. According to Dhawan, they reached out after following his social media updates about the farm. Their discussions inspired him to take the project further, not just as a personal attempt, but as part of a larger mission.
In his post, he wrote: “So… turns out farming was only the beginning. I realised nutrition could be a bigger part of the journey. After Prateek and Aishwarya at Better Nutrition reached out, I was inspired to take this farm on its own journey, as well as become an integral part of the brand itself to provide india BETTER NUTRITION.”
Rastogi confirmed the partnership on LinkedIn, calling Dhawan “THE Varun Dhawan” and expressing excitement about scaling the brand’s vision. “Couldn’t have asked for a better partner to join Better Nutrition. Happy to share that THE Varun Dhawan has joined us as an investor and brand ambassador. Nothing can stop us now to make India a healthier nation. 🧿❤️”
Better Nutrition, founded by Rastogi and Bhatnagar, specialises in biofortified staples. Foods enriched with essential nutrients. The company previously pitched its business model on Shark Tank India Season 4, with the episode airing in February 2025.
Dhawan’s new role isn’t just a branding move. It ties together his hands-on experience with farming and his growing public focus on sustainable, nutrient-rich food. With Kriti Sanon recently seen in a Diwali campaign with Fossil, this venture marks another layer in his evolving identity, one that extends far beyond the film set.
