Venkatesh Maha is back — and this time, he’s not just directing. He’s starring too. The man behind Rao Bahadur has unveiled his next film: Attahaasam, a summer 2027 release from Srichakraas Entertainments, the same banner that backed KA. The first-look poster drops with a punch: two couples, one starkly contrasted from the other, their expressions caught between chaos and comedy. The tagline? 'Because LIFE is unpredictable… and sometimes, all you can do is LAUGH!' It’s a promise, and a pivot. After the divisive reception to Rao Bahadur, Maha is doubling down on authenticity, but this time with a laugh track in tow. No more heavy silence. Just grounded stories, real people, and what looks like a full-on rom-com-cum-sitcom hybrid. Karthik Rathnam, Pavani Karanam (Pushpa 2), and Instagram personality Sravanthi Peepakayala join Maha in the lead roles. Music by Smaran Sai. The film is set in Kancharapalem again. The same village that gave us C/O Kancharapalem, but this time, it’s not about quiet hearts. It’s about noise. About misfires. About people who don’t know how to handle life when it throws them off course. The title itself, Attahaasam. Means ‘unpredictable’ or ‘chaotic’. That’s not a metaphor. It’s a warning. And if the poster’s tone is anything to go by, the film will be less about drama and more about surviving it with your sense of humour intact. Summer 2027 is now officially booked. But for now, the only thing we’re certain of is this: Venkatesh Maha isn’t done making waves. He’s just changing the kind of ripples he leaves behind.
