Endgame Encore, which debuted a week earlier with special post-credits teases linking to Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom, had pulled in $37.5 million by Wednesday. Verity didn’t just beat that number, it surpassed it in half the time. The film dropped 32% on its second day but still earned $2.4 million on Wednesday, proving its staying power.
With a $40 million budget, it’s already recouped its cost at home and is on track to cross $50 million this weekend. Worldwide, it’s hit $70.9 million and could clear $100 million by Sunday. No surprise, then, that trade sources are calling it a financial triumph. Word-of-mouth is strong, the audience is loyal, and the film’s bold tone.
