Vijay Varma has a pre-project ritual now, apparently. The actor shared a photograph of himself with spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar this weekend, captioning it with a note about starting something new and going back to prayer before it begins.

"Just before Matka King released I was fortunate to receive blessings from Gurujii.. Now that I am starting something new.. I offer a prayer and gratitude to the divine again," he wrote.

That's it. That's all he's given away.

No title, no genre, no co-stars. Just a photo and a caption that tells you a new chapter is opening without telling you what's in it. Given how packed his plate already is, the mystery is real. Is this a fresh signing, or just him marking the start of shoot on something already announced? The post doesn't say.

The gesture isn't new for him. He met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ahead of Matka King's release too, before stepping into the role of Brij Bhatti, a part that had him transform physically for a 1950s-set underworld drama. That show got people talking about his look as much as his performance. So when Vijay frames this latest photo as a repeat of that same instinct, the read is fairly simple, he's treating it as a marker for something he considers a big deal.

What's already on his plate

Here's the thing, Vijay Varma isn't short of work right now. Matka King 2 is in development. He's set to star opposite Sunny Deol in Antony. He's part of the ensemble in Lust Stories 3. And there's Hansal Mehta's Family Business sitting in his lineup as well, alongside a few projects that haven't been made official yet.

So the "something new" in his caption could, in theory, be any of these entering a fresh phase, principal photography kicking off, a formal announcement in the works, or genuinely something outside this list altogether. Actors don't usually post blessing pictures for routine dubbing sessions. This reads like the start of a shoot, or at least he wants it to feel that way.

What we do know is that Vijay has built himself a varied, fairly heavy slate over the last couple of years, moving between streaming and theatrical, between lead and ensemble. Whatever this new thing is, it joins a queue that already stretches into next year.

For now, the only clue is a photograph and a caption about gratitude. The name of the project, and when we'll actually get to see it, stays with him.
