Yash Raj Films will handle the global rollout of the upcoming family drama, joining Rajshri Productions for a fourth overseas partnership.
Yash Raj Films announced today that it will be the overseas distributor for Sooraj Barjatya’s latest venture, Yeh Prem Mol Liya. The move comes just days after the film’s title track was unveiled at the Royal Opera House, an event that already generated plenty of chatter among family‑film lovers.
The studio’s distribution arm will push the movie into the major foreign territories where Indian cinema traditionally finds an audience – the UK, North America, the Gulf and parts of Southeast Asia. A trade insider told Bollywood Hungama that YRF’s network is “known to secure the best possible screens” in those markets, which should translate into a solid opening for the film abroad.
Yeh Prem Mol Liya is a Rajshri Production, marking the fourth time the banner has teamed up with Yash Raj for overseas handling. Their first joint effort dates back to 2003’s Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, and they later joined forces for Barjatya’s Uunchai in 2022. The latest collaboration also has a personal twist: both leads, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari, are signed under YRF’s talent management, tightening the studio’s connection to the project.
While the overseas side is now locked in, the domestic distribution remains an open question. Industry watchers are already speculating which Indian distributor will pick up the rights, given the Rajshri brand’s strong pull with family audiences and the commercial appeal of the cast. The film is slated to hit Indian screens on November 27, a date that lands it in the lucrative pre‑holiday window.
Analysts note that YRF’s involvement could boost the film’s visibility in markets where Indian diaspora viewers actively seek out clean, feel‑good cinema. If the studio can secure prime slots in multiplexes across the UK and US, Yeh Prem Mol Liya may well become the go‑to family offering for the season, competing with the usual slate of Hollywood blockbusters.
For now, the buzz centers on how the overseas rollout will shape the film’s earnings. The combination of Barjatya’s nostalgic storytelling style, Ayushmann’s comic timing and Sharvari’s fresh screen presence gives the project a solid foundation. If YRF can deliver on its promise of “healthy release” abroad, the film could set a new benchmark for family‑drama exports.
The next piece of the puzzle will emerge once the Indian distribution partner is announced. Until then, fans can keep an eye on the film’s promotional calendar and the growing list of overseas theatres that will showcase the movie when it arrives.
