Sumo Didi: A Woman Who Lifted Her Body Into History

Sumo Didi lands directly on ZEE5 on October 23, skipping theatres entirely. The film, based on the life of India’s first female sumo wrestler, Hetal Dave, features Shriyam Bhagnani in her first lead role. Directed by Jayant Rohatgi, it’s a biopic about defying body shaming, social pressure, and gender bias. The film has screened at international festivals including Palm Springs and Tokyo.
