Padam Singh Kapri

Pyre Trailer Breaks Hearts Without Breaking a Sweat

The trailer opens with Padam Singh Kapri—yes, the real man, 80, retired Army—laughing at something Heera Devi, a 70-year-old local woman playing Tulsi, says. They’re chopping vegetables. They’re teasing each other. There’s warmth. Then the camera lingers on a photo of their son. Gone. Years gone. The silence after that moment is not empty. It’s full of absence.
