Mhatre In Jail: SC Cancels Bail, Orders Surrender After Doctor Assault Case Reopens

Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre and three associates have been remanded to Adharwadi Jail after surrendering before the Thane trial court, following the Supreme Court’s cancellation of their bail in the doctor assault case. The SC cited Mhatre’s 18 prior cases, including murder and attempt-to-murder charges, and ruled that medical staff cannot be expected to act under fear of violence.
