Ganesh Chaturthi week has quietly turned into a mini fashion event on Bollywood's Instagram. Six actresses have put up festive looks in the last few days, and between them, they skip the predictable saree-or-lehenga binary almost entirely.

Alia Bhatt kept it classic, in a teal and gold saree with geometric detailing and a traditional gold border. Jhumkas, a sleek bun, done. It's the kind of look that photographs well without trying too hard.

Deepika Padukone went the kurta-and-trouser route instead of a saree. Pink, with delicate white polka-dot motifs, paired against ivory trousers finished in gold embroidery, plus a coordinating dupatta with a gold border. Oversized jhumkas and pointed metallic heels finish the fit off. It reads more contemporary than temple-visit formal, and that's the point.

Sreeleela picked deep purple velvet, heavy on embroidery, styled with statement earrings and a textured ponytail. According to Bollywood Hungama, this one's built for an evening Ganpati gathering rather than a daytime puja, and honestly, the drama in that fabric supports the argument.

Kiara Advani chose yellow. Her lehenga has geometric embroidery, a cropped blouse and a flowing jacket layered on top, which gives the whole silhouette movement instead of the usual static drape you get with a standard lehenga set.

Shraddha Kapoor went the other way entirely, staying ivory with gold detailing kept deliberately minimal. Next to the rest of this lineup, it's the quiet one. No corset blouse, no velvet, no statement jacket. Just soft fabric and restraint.

Priyanka Chopra also picked yellow, but her lehenga leans playful rather than sunny-and-simple. An embroidered corset-style blouse, a flowing skirt, a sheer dupatta, finished with earrings, bangles and a ponytail. It's built for daytime festivities, not an evening do.

No single formula here

What's actually interesting is how little these six looks have in common beyond the calendar date. Velvet sits next to pastel ivory. A classic saree sits next to a cropped-blouse lehenga with a jacket over it. Nobody's copying anybody, which is rarer than it sounds during festival season, when Bollywood's stylists tend to converge on whatever colour trended last year.

With Ganesh Chaturthi days away, expect timelines to keep filling up before visarjan, and expect at least one of these six looks to show up in wedding-season mood boards by October.
