Two weeks before Don't Be Shy lands on Prime Video, its makers have dropped 'Tere Sang', the second song off the soundtrack after 'Jhoomo'. Armaan Malik and Yaashasvii Ddasane share vocals on the track, composed by Ram Sampath with lyrics by Sampath and Devansh Vaidya. T-Series is presenting the song.

Where 'Jhoomo' went for the upbeat register, 'Tere Sang' slows things down. It's built around the specific ache of a first crush, that stretch where you can't stop thinking about someone and haven't yet figured out what to do about it. The film itself is pitched as a coming-of-age romantic comedy set on a college campus, so the song's job is to soundtrack the quieter, more nervous side of that world, the part between the group scenes and the punchlines.

Armaan Malik called it a song about wanting to spend every moment with one person and letting your heart lead. "I feel the song fits perfectly into the world of Don't Be Shy, where the characters are navigating love, emotions, and the beautiful messiness of growing up," he said, adding that he hoped listeners would connect with the track's warmth.

Don't Be Shy marks a notable credit line. It's written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji and produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt through their banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, with Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani of Chalkboard Entertainment co-producing. Alia Bhatt has been building out her producer credentials for a while now, and a youth-driven campus romance without any big-ticket star in front of the camera is a different kind of bet than her acting projects usually are.

The cast leans entirely on newer faces. Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora and Piyush Khati carry the leads, with Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik filling out supporting roles. None of them are names that pull an audience on their own, which puts real weight on the music and the marketing to do that work in the run-up to release.

That's presumably why the soundtrack is being rolled out one song at a time rather than dumped in a single album drop. 'Jhoomo' handled the energy, 'Tere Sang' handles the feelings, and there's still a fortnight left before September 25 for whatever comes next.

Don't Be Shy premieres on Prime Video in Hindi with English subtitles on September 25, and will be available in India along with more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Whether the film can turn a song-led campaign into actual viewership numbers is the question the platform will be watching closely once it's out.
