Dominic Arun got his fanboy moment this week, and he made sure everyone knew it. The Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra director posted a picture with Allu Arjun on Instagram, saying the Pushpa star had shared his thoughts on the film and cheered him on for what's coming next in the franchise.

"A big fanboy moment," Dominic wrote, describing the meeting. "Had the wonderful opportunity to meet 'THE' Allu Arjun and hear his thoughts on Lokah. His appreciation for the film and his encouragement for the chapters ahead genuinely meant a lot. Some days, you meet someone you've admired for years and just forget what to say. This was one of those days. Grateful for the love, the kind words. Thank you, Sir."

No word yet on whether Allu Arjun's encouragement translates into anything more concrete. There's no confirmation of him joining the Lokah universe in any capacity, and Dominic's post doesn't suggest otherwise. Given the actor's schedule right now, that would be a stretch anyway. He's deep into his Atlee collaboration, said to be titled Raaka, and has a Lokesh Kanagaraj project lined up too, on top of whatever comes after Pushpa 2: The Rule.

A blockbuster that's already been overtaken

What makes the appreciation notable is timing. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which starred Kalyani Priyadarshan as the folklore-rooted superhero Chandra alongside Naslen, Tovino Thomas, Sandy Master, Chandu Salimkumar and Dulquer Salmaan, had its theatrical run finish up back in late 2025. It went on to OTT after that.

During its run, the film crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide, becoming the first Malayalam film to hit that number and, briefly, the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. That record didn't last. Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros overtook Lokah's Kerala collections in April 2026 to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film in the state, pushing Dominic's film down the list.

So Allu Arjun's praise arrives well after the film's theatrical shelf life and after its numbers got matched and passed. What it still represents, though, is a Telugu superstar with a genuinely large Kerala fanbase publicly getting behind a Malayalam filmmaker's ambitions. That crossover goodwill matters more for Dominic's future plans than any box office chart at this point.

Dominic made his directing debut in 2017 with Tharangam, a crime comedy with Tovino Thomas and Balu Varghese that Dhanush produced, his first Malayalam venture. That film got noticed critically but didn't do much at the ticket counter. Lokah changed the calculation entirely, and now the pressure is on the sequels to justify the universe Dominic has built.

When the next Lokah chapter actually goes into production, and whether that encouragement from Allu Arjun turns into anything on screen, remains to be seen.
