Baththa crosses ₹23 crore India net — and still climbing. The Tamil action drama, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Lijomol Jose, has quietly outlasted expectations, logging a 3.2% uptick on Sunday with ₹3.20 crore in collections. That’s Day 11, and the film’s cumulative India net now stands at ₹23.41 crore, with gross collections at ₹27.08 crore. It’s not a blockbuster, but it’s not fading either.

The numbers tell a story of steady endurance: after a soft opening of ₹1.50 crore on October 1, the film dipped into the low teens during midweek before surging again over the second weekend. Friday saw ₹1.65 crore, Saturday ₹3.10 crore, and Sunday ₹3.20 crore, a small but telling rise. Occupancy ticked up from 33% to 34%, and screens held firm at 1,767 tracked shows.

Directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, Baththa is a lean, character-driven piece built around Sethupathi’s performance. No grand spectacle, no star-studded cameos. Just a man caught between duty and survival. The film’s quiet momentum suggests something older than virality: word-of-mouth, family audiences, maybe even a few parents dragging kids to see a movie that isn’t about superheroes or revenge plots.

It’s been 11 days. The film’s still playing. And for a Tamil release that didn’t chase headlines, that’s more than enough.

Day 12 begins tomorrow.
