Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 has crossed 100 crore watch-time hours on JioHotstar in under 60 days — the fastest any season has hit the mark in the show’s 20-year run.
Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 has crossed 100 crore watch-time hours on JioHotstar in under 60 days — the fastest any season has reached the milestone in the show’s two-decade run. The achievement, announced on November 6, 2026, marks a new benchmark for Indian reality television, proving that the format remains as potent in the digital age as it was when it first arrived on screens in 2006.
The season premiered in September and immediately set records with the biggest opening day ever for a reality show on the platform. Since then, viewership has only intensified, with engagement stretching far beyond passive watching. More than 350 crore votes have been cast this season, a 71% increase from the previous year, while the number of people participating in voting rose by 48%.
Viewers are also creating over three times as many memes compared to last season, and participation in Jeeto, the show’s interactive play-along game, has more than doubled. The audience isn’t just observing. They’re shaping the drama. This season’s reach extends across India’s major metros, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, as well as smaller cities like Lucknow, Surat, Jaipur, and Nagpur.
Gen Z now accounts for 45% of total watch time, signaling a shift in demographic engagement. Connected TV viewing continues to grow, indicating that families are gathering around larger screens to follow the unfolding chaos. Internationally, Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20 has consistently ranked among JioHotstar’s top five titles in the UK, Canada, and Singapore since its debut.
In the UAE, it sits at No. 1 on STARZPLAY and has remained within the platform’s top 10 since streaming began. The season has secured 24 sponsorships across FMCG, e-commerce, beauty and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, real estate, consumer electronics, kitchen and home appliances, and on-demand home services. Host Salman Khan called the milestone a shared triumph: “Bigg Boss ka asli game sirf ghar ke andar nahi, ghar ke bahar bhi chalta hai, jahaan audience har moment se judi rehti hai.” Alok Jain, Head – Hindi & English Entertainment Business at JioStar, said the figure represents more than an hour of Bigg Boss for every person in the Hindi-speaking market, purely on digital, before even factoring in linear TV.
Deepak Dhar, Founder and Group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, described the achievement as a tribute to viewer loyalty, noting that every hour spent inside the house is a choice made by someone who values the experience. The show streams 24x7 on JioHotstar, remains JioStar’s flagship unscripted offering, and is produced by Endemol Shine India under license from Banijay Entertainment.
With nearly half the season still to go, the momentum shows no sign of slowing. What happens when the next threshold breaks?
