Comrade Kalyan trailer is out — and Sree Vishnu’s latest is already riding a wave of relief. The Telugu action-comedy, set in 1992 along the Andhra-Odisha border, drops its theatrical trailer today, just hours before its Friday release. The film marks Vishnu’s third outing this year, following two underperforming outings that left his momentum shaky. Now, with no major competition in sight, the timing couldn’t be better. Venkatesh’s Aadarsha Kutumbam has been pushed back to October 9, clearing the weekend slate for Comrade Kalyan. Add in the Dasara holidays kicking off on October 10, and the window is wide open. The trailer itself leans hard into the absurd: a Naxalite hiding in plain sight, falling for an Odia woman whose language he can’t understand, and a manhunt sequence packed with slapstick. Sree Vishnu’s performance, as a fugitive revolutionary with a soft spot for romance. Looks like his signature blend of charm and chaos. Mahima Nambiar plays the love interest. Radhika, Sudarshan, and Shine Tom Chacko round out the cast. Music by Vijay Bulganin. Directed by Janakiram Marella. Presented by Kona Venkat, produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP. If the reviews hold, this could be the comeback ride Vishnu needs. But one thing’s certain: the trailer’s already gone viral. Not for its plot. For its tone. A naxalite with a punchline? That’s not a warning. That’s a trend.
