October 9, 2026 — The Dasara box office is set for a three-way war. Three high-stakes Telugu films, Aadarsha Kutumbam, Jailer 2, and Ranabaali. Are gunning for the same holiday weekend, each carrying career-defining budgets and expectations. No pressure, just ₹100 crore+ targets and the weight of legacy on their shoulders.

Venkatesh’s Aadarsha Kutumbam, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, arrives with a quiet confidence. It’s his costliest film yet, and Trivikram’s biggest gamble since S/O Satyamurthy. The duo’s reunion was always going to be a talking point, but buzz has been oddly low. The trailer, expected soon, might be the only thing standing between silence and a storm.

Then there’s Rajinikanth. Jailer 2 isn’t just a sequel, it’s a financial obligation. Sun Pictures poured deep into the production, and Nelson Dilipkumar’s return as director adds pressure. The Telugu rights alone were snapped up by S Naga Vamsi at a premium. Anirudh’s music is tipped as the secret weapon. But after the first film’s record-breaking run, this one doesn’t just need to perform. It needs to outdo itself.

And Vijay Deverakonda? He’s not chasing fame, he’s chasing redemption. Ranabaali, set in the independence era and based on real events, is Mythri Movie Makers’ boldest bet yet. Rashmika Mandanna co-stars, Rahul Sankrityan directs. The film’s budget is massive, its stakes higher. One hit could save the studio. One flop could end a career.

Theatres are bracing for a bloodbath. Or a blockbuster. Either way, October 9 won’t be quiet.
