Deepika Padukone has launched 'Featured Closet', a new initiative under her Deepika Padukone Closet, on World Mental Health Day. The project marks an expansion of her existing charity platform, which has long supported mental health awareness through the Live Love Laugh Foundation. This time, she’s bringing in public figures from outside entertainment to contribute personal wardrobe items for a charity sale. Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is the first participant, curating a collection that blends sport, style, and social purpose. The announcement arrives just days after Padukone welcomed her second child — a moment she shared with fans through a heartfelt note alongside Ranveer Singh. That private milestone now sits beside a public one: a campaign built on vulnerability, authenticity, and collective action.  The initiative aims to raise funds for mental health programmes, with all proceeds going directly to the Live Love Laugh Foundation.  It’s not just about selling clothes. It’s about using personal objects as vessels for stories, especially those that challenge the myth of unbreakable strength.  Sindhu spoke openly about the pressure athletes face: “As athletes, we’re often seen as mentally tough. But it’s just as necessary to talk about the moments we struggle.” Her participation adds weight to the message: even champions feel the strain.  Padukone described the collaboration as deeply meaningful, saying, “Collaborating with PV Sindhu on this first-ever Featured Closet has been incredibly special. She's not only a world-class athlete, but someone whose grace, grit, and authenticity I deeply admire.” She highlighted how Sindhu’s willingness to speak honestly about resilience makes her support for the cause all the more powerful.  The foundation, established by Padukone, continues to work toward dismantling stigma around mental illness. This new effort builds on that mission by inviting friends, collaborators, and individuals who share the vision to join in fundraising. It’s a move that turns intimacy into impact, where a jacket, a scarf, or a pair of shoes becomes part of a larger conversation. No dates for the auction have been released, nor has the platform been named. But the intent is clear: to connect people through shared experiences, and to use visibility not for spectacle, but for healing. The launch coincides with a global day dedicated to mental well-being, making the timing both symbolic and strategic. Whether other celebrities will follow remains to be seen. But for now, the spotlight stays on two women who’ve chosen to show up. Not just as icons, but as human beings who know what it means to carry something heavy.
