An AI-generated deepfake video using footage from the Chuttamalle song of Devara: Part 1 has sparked a firestorm of condemnation after depicting Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR in a sexually explicit and degrading manner. The clip, circulating widely on social media since early October, has drawn sharp criticism from industry figures, with Jr NTR among the first to publicly denounce it, stating he would pursue legal action against those responsible.
Now, Vijay Deverakonda has entered the fray, calling the video the 'digital equivalent of sexual assault' and accusing its creators of descending to 'absolute lowlife' levels. Posting on his X account, Deverakonda expressed disbelief at how society has become desensitised to such acts, asking, 'When did we become so insensitive to each other?
What kind of parenting is going on? What kind of society are we living in?' He added that while global conversations focus on AI’s threat to jobs and livelihoods, this is how the technology is being misused — not for progress, but for deliberate harm. 'These idiots are using that very technology to do utter nonsense,' he wrote, demanding the harshest possible legal consequences and urging authorities to treat such acts with utmost seriousness.
