Diljit Dosanjh just found the one stadium bigger than Wembley, and he's playing it next.

The singer confirmed a show at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket ground on the planet, for November 21. He dropped the news mid-set at Wembley on September 12, where he'd just become the first Punjabi artist to headline the venue. That London show, put together by Live Nation, sold out in under 48 hours, according to Bollywood Hungama.

So the Ahmedabad date is less a stray announcement and more the next domino in a run that hasn't really stopped since spring. The AURA World Tour's European leg still has two stops left, Birmingham on September 18 and Manchester on September 20, before Dosanjh wraps that side of things and looks toward India.

A tour that keeps breaking its own numbers

Before Europe, there was North America, and it wasn't a small warm-up. Fifteen dates, two nights at Madison Square Garden where Dosanjh became the first Punjabi act to headline the arena, and a total north of 225,000 tickets sold. Bollywood Hungama reports the run pulled in over $32 million, beating the record Dosanjh himself had set for the biggest North American tour by a Punjabi artist.

He'd already been building toward this for years. Coachella in 2023 made him the first Punjabi artist on that stage. A year later he became the first Indian artist to perform on The Tonight Show, and his DIL-LUMINATI run turned into the highest-grossing tour by an Indian artist across North American stadiums and arenas. He went back to Fallon this spring, played 'Morni' flanked by two Bhangra dancers, and the clip did what clips do now, it spread everywhere and had people trying the steps in their own living rooms.

The accolades have piled up alongside the numbers. An International Emmy nomination for Best Performance By An Actor. A debut at the Met Gala that got him named best dressed by both GQ and Vogue. None of it reads like a one-off run of good luck, it reads like a career that keeps finding a bigger room.

And now that room is a stadium built for cricket World Cup finals, not concerts. Whether Ahmedabad can move the kind of ticket volume Wembley and MSG did will be the real test, one that plenty of promoters and rival acts will be watching closely. No word yet on ticket pricing or how ticketing will open, but if the pattern from London holds, fans probably shouldn't wait around once sales go live.

For now, the date is locked: November 21, Narendra Modi Stadium. What happens between now and then, in terms of support acts, ticket tiers or whether more Indian dates follow, is still an open question.
