Two weeks out from release, Drishyam: The Conclusion has put out its first song. It's called 'Vingansa', and it doesn't waste time being subtle about where the franchise is headed.

The word itself comes from vingança, Portuguese for revenge, filtered through Goan usage. Lyricist Aamil Keeyan Khan picked it deliberately. "Revenge in this story is not simply about anger, it comes from everything these characters have done and carried with them for years," he said. "I wanted the lyrics to have that weight." Composer Ravi Basrur built the track around that idea, keeping the sound low and coiled rather than dramatic. "There is a lot happening beneath the surface in Vijay's world, and the music needed to carry that without becoming too loud or obvious," he said, crediting the singer's voice for giving the song its rawness.

The song arrives soon after the trailer, which brought back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar and introduced Jaideep Ahlawat as SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar, the officer now circling a secret Vijay has spent years protecting. 'Vingansa' functions as connective tissue between that trailer and the film itself, a mood piece rather than a plot reveal. No visuals have accompanied it yet beyond the audio drop, which went live across streaming platforms through Sony Music India.

What it does confirm is tone. This isn't a franchise easing into a lighter register for its supposed finale. The track leans into confrontation and old wounds resurfacing, which tracks with what little the trailer already gave away about Tomar's pursuit closing in on Vijay's family.

The film reunites much of the extended Drishyam ensemble. Devgn returns opposite Tabu and Shriya Saran, with Prakash Raj, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant rounding out the cast alongside Ahlawat. Abhishek Pathak directs, having also produced the film with Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare and Kumar Mangat Pathak, with Sanjeev Joshi on board as co-producer. Star Studio18 presents.

The first Drishyam sequel did solid business by leaning on the tension of a family staying one step ahead of the law. Whether 'Vingansa' is a marketing flourish or an actual preview of a darker, more punishing chapter will only be clear once the film lands.

Drishyam: The Conclusion opens in theatres on October 2. More music and a fuller promotional push are expected in the days before release.
