Gurfateh Pirzada broke his jaw on the set of The Revolutionaries. He fell off a horse during an action sequence, according to Bollywood Hungama, which reported the accident happened while the actor was deep into a punishing physical transformation to play freedom fighter Bagha Jatin.

The injury came at the tail end of a process that started, by Pirzada's own account, in rough shape. In a set of before-and-after photos he posted to Instagram, he wrote that the first picture was from January 2025, when he was "lean and weak af" after coming out of a bad flu and losing weight. The second was taken six to eight weeks later, and the difference is the point of the post.

What happened in between, per his own caption, was "absolute madness." Hours of training. Clean eating that added up to roughly 6000 calories a day. He credited it all to director Nikkhil Advani's vision for the role, along with guidance from his trainers at Kasrat and Sahil Rasheed. "It was back breaking and nothing short of a wild ride to achieve the look of Bagha Jatin," he wrote, adding he'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Bagha Jatin, born Jatindranath Mukherjee, was among the more physically imposing figures of the Indian independence movement, and the casting brief clearly leaned into that. Six thousand calories a day for six to eight weeks is not a diet plan most actors sign up for lightly, and a broken jaw is the kind of cost that doesn't show up in a poster.

The Revolutionaries premieres Friday on Amazon Prime Video, and it marks Pirzada's first release in what is stacking up to be a busy year for him. Lust Stories is next in line, and he's also got Call Me Bae Season 2 and Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum on the release calendar before 2026 is done.

For now, the jaw has healed enough for him to post the photos and ask fans, in his words, to "give us your love, please." Whether the transformation reads on screen the way it clearly did on his body is what Friday will settle.
