Himesh Reshammiya returns to collaborate with Mahesh Bhatt after 16 years for Naam – To Live Is War, Veer Pahariya’s upcoming film, with music rights acquired by Himesh’s label. The film is set for 2027 release.
Himesh Reshammiya is back in the game — and not just any game. The composer, singer, and occasional actor has signed on to score Naam – To Live Is War, Veer Pahariya’s next film, marking a reunion with Mahesh Bhatt after 16 years. That’s not just a casting update. It’s a timeline reset.
The last time they worked together was on Kajraare (2010), where Himesh starred, composed, and sang, all under Bhatt’s story and screenplay. Before that, Bhatt wrote the script for Footpath (2003), which featured Himesh’s early hit ‘Soorat Pe Teri Pyar Aave’. Now, the two are reconnecting over a project described as intense, with a narrative weight that demanded a musical voice beyond the usual.
According to sources cited by Bollywood Hungama, the makers felt Himesh was the only one who could do justice to the film’s theme. He agreed, not just because of the script, but because of the man behind it. The emotional pull of reuniting with Bhatt, someone whose praise still carries weight, was enough to seal the deal.
And yes, he’s taking music rights too, through his own label, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies. That’s a move worth noting. It means control, ownership, and a clear signal: this isn’t just another soundtrack. This is a brand.
The film, directed by Sidhaant Sachdev and produced by Utsav Upadhyay and Riddhi Chawda, is presented under Utsav Entertainment and Productions. It’s Veer Pahariya’s third outing since Sky Force (2025) and Prem Keetanu (2026). Varun Sharma steps into a villain role for the first time. Prashant Narayanan, Vijayant Kohli, and Shefali Bagga have also joined.
All signs point to a high-stakes drama. But what kind? No word yet. Only that it’s one of the most awaited films of 2027.
So far, the only confirmed date is the silence before the storm. The trailer hasn’t dropped. The release window remains unannounced. But now, the soundtrack is already being shaped, by a man who once said Bhatt’s call meant more than any award.
The music will come. The film will follow. What it’ll sound like? That’s the question.
Not even Himesh knows yet.
