A new Colors Kannada promo shows Jagadeesh mocking Kiran Shastry's kitchen duties, and viewers on social media are firmly on Shastry's side.
Three wildcard contestants walked into the Bigg Boss Kannada 13 house this week and the mood inside has shifted fast. Colors Kannada dropped a new promo on Monday built entirely around one confrontation, Jagadeesh versus Kiran Shastry, and it's doing the rounds online for reasons that have nothing to do with the wildcards.
The clip, reported by Oneindia Kannada, opens with Jagadeesh, known in the house as Jaggi, explaining exactly what's bothered him. Shastry had spent two days serving what housemates call a jail punishment, a common Bigg Boss task where a contestant is confined and given limited privileges. Jagadeesh says that when Shastry was handed vegetables to chop during this stretch, he cut them the size you'd feed to cattle, not what a kitchen needs.
"That kind of carelessness shouldn't happen, ever," Jagadeesh says in the promo, adding that Shastry seemed to be nursing a grudge the whole time, as though he resented everyone else eating properly while he was stuck on gruel in jail. Jagadeesh frames it as more than kitchen sloppiness. He tells Shastry that this kind of attitude, in the house or outside it, is something nobody should carry, and that living right is what keeps a person protected.
Shastry's response is short. "Fine, that's it, that's what I've been saying," he tells Jagadeesh, before pushing back a little. He says if he'd simply been asked, brother to brother, to cut the vegetables smaller, he'd have done it without complaint. It was the manner of the ask that stung, not the task itself.
Jagadeesh doesn't let that land as a serious point. He turns it into a joke, telling Shastry in a mock-sweet tone to go cut vegetables small from now on, sweetheart. The house reportedly breaks into laughter, and Jagadeesh needles him further, asking why he goes quiet the moment someone says two words to him.
That needling is where the online reaction has turned. Several viewers commenting on the clip feel Jagadeesh is targeting someone already struggling in the house, with one comment paraphrased by Oneindia Kannada arguing that once nominations come around, only four names tend to circulate among housemates, Kiran Shastry, Likhith, Manja and Dhanush, and Jagadeesh piling on doesn't help matters. Others have asked, more pointedly, whether Jaggi's temperament shifts every time a new face enters the house, given the timing right after the wildcard entries.
Colors Kannada hasn't addressed the criticism, and there's no indication yet of how this plays into this week's nominations or eviction. With three new contestants settling in and old alliances clearly being tested, the next episode is likely to show whether Shastry's silence in the promo carries into the house itself, or whether Monday night's laughter was the end of it.
