Jr NTR isn't letting this one slide. The actor took to X on Friday to call out an AI-generated clip built from the Chuttamalle song, the Devara romantic number he shares with Janhvi Kapoor, after a doctored version began circulating online with sexually explicit imagery that was never part of the original picturisation.

His post didn't mince words. "Disgusting, Sick and Shameless," he wrote, before invoking the cultural weight of calling women mothers and goddesses and asking how anyone could stoop to using AI to degrade a woman this way. He said it plainly: some people have fallen low enough to do this.

Then came the warning. NTR said he would pursue every legal route available against whoever created the clip and whoever keeps sharing it, and he asked people to simply not watch, share or engage with it at all. His line about the stakes was blunt too, something to the effect that today it's someone else's image being violated, tomorrow it could be a mother, sister, wife or daughter from anyone's own family.

He closed by pushing for something bigger than one clip. NTR called on the government to bring in strict regulation against AI misuse, a demand that's been building across the industry as deepfake technology gets cheaper and harder to trace.

Worth remembering what the actual song is. Chuttamalle is a romantic track shot across beaches and forests, composed by Anirudh Ravichander with lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry and vocals by Shilpa Rao. It's part of Devara, the film that also had Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shina Chacko and Narain in the cast, and which released in theatres on September 27, 2024. None of that explicit content exists anywhere in the original cut. Whoever built the morphed version used AI tools to fabricate imagery that was never filmed.

This isn't the first time Indian film circles have had to deal with deepfake content targeting actresses, and it won't be the last given how accessible the tools have become. What's different here is the scale of NTR's public response, a full statement from a star of his stature rather than a quiet legal notice filed away from cameras.

No FIR or formal complaint has been detailed yet beyond NTR's stated intent to pursue legal action, and there's no word from Janhvi Kapoor's camp or from Devara's production house on whether they're taking separate steps. Whether platforms hosting the clip respond with takedowns, and whether this pushes any actual legislative movement on AI misuse, is the part still unanswered.
