Kapil Sharma is back on Netflix, and this time he's brought the entire crew with him. The Great Indian Kapil Show returns for a fifth season on September 26, streaming every Saturday at 8 PM, according to an announcement from Bollywood Hungama.

The show has been off air for six months. Season 5 arrives with a festive wrapper, ‘Hasi Ka Tyohaar,’ timed to run through Diwali and into Christmas.

The cast list reads exactly the way fans of the show would want it to. Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu all return alongside Kapil. No reshuffle, no fresh face replacing an old one. Netflix has confirmed a mix of celebrity guests and newsmakers across the season, with the usual format intact: conversation segments, sketches, roasting bits and whatever chaos the ensemble decides to stir up around the guest of the week.

Kapil Sharma, in a statement shared with the announcement, kept things light. "Every season, we think we have done enough masti (fun), and then we realise that we are not done yet," he said, adding that the team is grateful for the response the show has gotten globally on Netflix. He signed off with a line aimed squarely at his on-screen judge and co-star: "Bas lifafe Archana ji se duur rakhiye, baki hum Hasi ka Tyohaar to le kar aa hi rahe hain" — just keep the gifts and envelopes away from Archana ji, the rest of the festival of laughter is on its way.

Netflix's series head Tanya Bami framed the return as part of a wider comedy push for the platform. She called the show "an all time and evergreen family entertainer" that has kept bringing audiences of different ages back season after season. Bami said the anticipation around this comeback has been building through the gap, and that the season leans into "har type ka funny," with a promise of surprises across the guest line-up.

What that guest line-up actually looks like hasn't been detailed yet. Netflix has only said it will draw from different corners of Indian culture and public life, which leaves plenty of room for speculation before the first episode drops.

The show has built its reputation over four seasons as one of the more dependable comedy properties on Indian streaming, largely because it doesn't tinker with a format that already works. Season 5 doesn't look like an exception. Same night, same cast, same mix of chat and sketch, just repackaged for the festive calendar this time.

September 26 is the date to watch. After that, it's a Saturday appointment through Diwali and, if the season runs long enough, straight into the Christmas week Netflix has already name-checked.
