"I came for the trial, remember? You were at the Omkara trial and you were looking really hot," she said, recalling the moment with a smile. "You were wearing that black pyjamas and kurta. And I remember thinking ‘God he is hot.’"
Saif, ever the playful one, didn’t miss a beat. "You said nice pyjamas," he replied, prompting laughter from both him and host Karan Johar.
The conversation unfolded like a flashback — not just of looks, but of near-misses. Kareena admitted she’d wanted to work with Saif, even though she turned down two major roles: Kal Ho Naa Ho and Race. Karan Johar brought up the disappointment, saying, "And I remember how disturbed he was when you said no to Kal Ho Naa Ho. Because he was actually looking forward to working with you."
Saif added, "I was. And actually Race was offered to her which was also a really cool script. But she said, 'No, I’m not doing anything right now.'"
