Kashmera questioned how Komal Rani Swarnkar knows the private details of Govinda and Sunita's marriage, calling it unheard of in three decades of film work.
Kashmera Shah has picked a side. On Sunday, she posted a long note on Instagram defending her maami Sunita Ahuja against Komal Rani Swarnkar, the actress who has been named as Govinda's rumoured girlfriend amid the couple's ongoing divorce chatter.
The post came a day after Komal called Sunita "a cunning woman" and claimed the Ahuja-Govinda marriage was already in trouble long before she entered the picture. Komal also referenced what she described as an incident at a salon, saying no curse from a woman who tried to harm her own husband there could touch anyone else. She did not name Sunita directly in that line, but the context left little doubt about who she meant. Kashmera's response skipped past the specifics of the salon remark entirely and went straight for a question that's been sitting in a lot of people's heads: how does Komal know this much about a marriage she isn't part of?
"Since the beginning of my career, 30 years and 50 films in total not one co star of mine knew anything about my personal life or feelings," Kashmera wrote, adding that the only person she'd ever confided in fully was her husband, Krushna Abhishek. "I have never heard of such a bond in a work environment where a co-worker knows such intimate details."
She then turned to the word that seems to have set her off. Somewhere in this saga, Sunita and the women standing by her had been called murderers, and Kashmera wasn't letting that pass.
"We are often called RUDE OBNOXIOUS DOMINATING FOCUSSED SELFISH just because we look out for our families but this is the first time we are called murderers," she wrote. "So if every mother, wife, sister, aunt and their dogs are called murderers for protecting the one man that they love, be it the father, the husband, the brother, and the dog then so be it." She closed by telling Sunita she was proud of her and would stand by her.
Komal, for her part, had framed her own post as a woman tired of being dragged into someone else's public grief. "Nobody ever can be a homebreaker in already broken house," she wrote, questioning whether what she was witnessing was genuine pain or, in her words, a conspiracy aimed at her.
Neither Govinda nor Sunita has commented directly on Kashmera's post. What remains unresolved is the divorce itself, whether it's actually been filed, and whether either side plans to address the salon claim with anything more than social media posts. For now, this is playing out entirely on Instagram, one long caption at a time.
