Kashmera Shah didn’t just board a flight to Greece — she dropped a mic on Mumbai’s gossip circuit. The actress, en route for her next project, was spotted at Mumbai airport on Tuesday evening and didn’t hold back when asked about her travel plans. What followed wasn’t just a casual update. It was a pointed jab, wrapped in a laugh, aimed at the simmering drama around Govinda and his alleged girlfriend, Komal Rani Swarnkar.

“Khaas baat yeh hi ki yeh project independent hai,” she said, deadpan. “Na mere husband (Krushna Abhishek) na finance kiya, na kisi boyfriend ne.”

The line landed like a grenade. Kashmera is married to Krushna Abhishek, who is Govinda’s maternal nephew, making the veteran actor her uncle-in-law. That connection alone turns any comment into a loaded statement. And the word ‘boyfriend’? It wasn’t just thrown in. It was delivered with a smirk, echoing months of speculation after Govinda and Komal were seen together at the airport earlier this year.

Sunita Ahuja, Govinda’s wife, had already fired back earlier, calling Komal a “sugar daddy” and questioning how someone close in age to their daughter could be involved. Govinda has denied any affair, insisting their bond is purely professional. Linked to their upcoming film, Roopa. Komal, too, has maintained that their public appearances are tied to work. But the narrative isn’t so easily contained.

Now, Kashmera’s remarks, delivered with a wink and a nod. Have reignited the conversation. She’s not just acting in the new project. She’s directing it. A dual role, a personal stake, and a clear distancing from outside influence. “Hum bahar ki film karte hai bhai, ghar ki nahi karte,” she added.

It’s not just a career move. It’s a statement. And in a city where family ties are currency, even a playful dig can ripple through the industry.

The question now isn’t whether the film will get made. It’s whether the real story, the one behind the scenes. Is finally getting its due.

And if Kashmera’s tone was anything to go by, the answer might come sooner than expected.
