Kelly Osbourne says the weight loss everyone's been talking about wasn't a diet, a drug or a surgery. It was grief.

The 41-year-old told The Mail that her father Ozzy Osbourne's death in July 2025 hit her so hard she stopped noticing what was happening to her own body. It took photos from February's Grammy Awards, where the show paid tribute to her father's legacy, to snap her out of it.

"I looked like the fucking Crypt Keeper," she said, comparing her appearance to the horror character.

That's blunt. And it's the kind of line that tells you more than a paragraph of explanation could.

Kelly says she genuinely didn't clock how thin she'd become in the moment. "This is scary. I didn't know I looked like this. My spine, you could see every single bone. I couldn't see what other people saw because I was in so much pain. I just saw a broken person," she told the outlet.

She now thinks she shouldn't have shown up at all. "They knew I was going through something. I wanted to be there to support my mom and pay tribute to my father's legacy. I don't think I should have gone. I wasn't very well," she said. Her team apparently tried to manage the optics from the outside, putting her in a wig and choosing clothing meant to draw attention away from how much weight she'd dropped.

Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 at 86, following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and a heart attack, complicated by coronary artery disease and Parkinson's, the outlet reported. The Black Sabbath frontman's health had been public knowledge for years. His death wasn't.

Months later, Kelly is still working through it, just differently. She's signed on for a three-part documentary that will track her path from that low point to wherever she's headed now. The stated goal, according to what she's told The Mail, is less about her own story and more about giving other grieving people permission to fall apart in public without shame.

Through all of it, she says she kept the worst of it away from her three-year-old son Sidney, whom she shares with Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson. The two got engaged in 2025 and have since split, though they're co-parenting. Kelly hid her crying from Sidney where she could, wanting some version of normal for him even while nothing about her own life felt that way.

She's since relocated from Los Angeles to the UK, a move she's framed as a step toward quiet and healing rather than escape. Whether the documentary lands before or after that healing runs its course is, for now, still unclear.
